Portugal presents, for the first time in Brazil, an expressive representation of national contemporary equipment design. From August 12 to 16, in São Paulo, the LEVE exhibition will take place during the São Paulo Design Weekend.
It will host a series of 31 product design works created by 27 Portuguese designers — both internationally acclaimed professionals and upcoming talents.
Under the curatorship of the gallerists Guilherme Braga da Cruz and Diana Sequeira, and the commissariat of Guta Moura Guedes, this exhibition comes after a dialogue and collaboration already initiated between Portugal and Brazil.
The name LEVE [light] reflects a double sense – that of the apparent lightness of objects, regarding their weight or presence, and that of transport, almost as an invitation for the public to bring home the product or at least its associated memory. In consonance with this, the exhibitive layout design for the installation of the works in São Paulo was projected as to transmit that lightness, reflecting it in the context where they are presented. The objects play the main role here, clearly prevailing over the background.
